Founded in 2000, we built a reputation as the finest craft smoked meat manufacturer in the industry. Our all-star team of industry heavyweights carry on that tradition.     From a small meat Locker in Rosenberg Texas, Luvine Holmes develops his award winning pecan smoked sausage - Holmes Smokehouse

    Double R Brand Foods LLC acquires Holmes Smokehouse
  • 2001

    Holmes Smokehouse was selected to be served at the Presidential Inauguration of George W. Bush
  • 2002

    Holmes Smokehouse was Voted Best Tasting Sausage by the Houston Chronicle
  • 2006

    Devastating fire destroys production facility in Pleak, Texas
  • 2008

    Double R purchases Burton Sausage Company from Jerry Schultz
  • 2014

    Double R expands into 149,000 sqft. State of the art facility in Lufkin Texas to accommodate tremendous growth and expansion plans
  • 2018

    Double R expands across the US with its artisan smoked meats
  • 2022

    Double R opens innovation center in Burton, Texas to facilitate R&D and to provide a contingency plan for future growth

Rodney Roth

Owner/CEO of Double R Brand Foods LLC was born into the business as the grandson of the founder of Blue Ribbon Sausage Company Hans Pauly. Rodney was Blue Ribbon’s 4th President succeeding his father Franklin M Roth. With degrees from both the University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business and an MBA from University of Houston, Rodney acquired Holmes Smokehouse in 2000 and later Burton Sausage Company in 2008. Rodney believed that consumers were looking for cool clean niche artisan brands like Holmes and Burton. Rodney’s leadership, vision, and marketing savvy helped elevate Double R Brands LLC and its stable of brands Holmes Smokehouse, Burton Sausage, Ranch Hand, and Beaumont Boudin Company, into one of the fastest growing smoked meat companies in the US.

Stewart Rosenthal

Stewart (Stu) Rosenthal joined Double R Brand Foods as Vice President of Finance in 2015 and was quickly promoted to Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, Stu is responsible for all of the company’s financial functions, including accounting, treasury, corporate finance and taxes. He also oversees and manages all human resources, risk management, IT and capital expenditure activities. Stu restructured the Company’s debt facilities to expand the company’s borrowing capacity to support growth and achieved substantial improvement in cash flow. Under Stu’s leadership, the company implemented several accounting, production and food safety/quality assurance systems and applications to provide KPI data and other essential tools for management. His career spans more than 40 years of varied experience in financial management, business leadership and corporate strategy. Prior to joining Double R Brand Foods, Stu was a Managing Director at PWC and later served in various senior-level roles with AutoNation. Stu holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business.
