Jalapeno Sausage Cornbread


  • 1 lb. Holmes Smokehouse Jalapeno Sausage
  • 3 Tablespoons Shortening
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 egg
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour


  1. Crumble and cook Holmes Smokehouse Jalapeno Sausage in a heavy iron skillet or saute pan until slightly brown. Pour off excess fat. In a large bowl, combine remaining ingredients and mix well. Place sausage in a square baking pan, then pour in cornbread mixture. Bake in 425° F oven for 20 minutes or until light brown.
